What This Job Actually Is
Mobile is one of our core disciplines and one of the busiest. Most of our app work is cross-platform — Flutter and React Native — with native Kotlin and Swift where a project genuinely needs it.
You would own apps rather than tickets: in the scoping conversation, making the architecture calls, writing the code, and then being the person who fixes it when a crash report arrives six weeks after launch. A senior engineer reviews the work, but nobody relays requirements to you second-hand.
Our engagements are client projects with real deadlines and real users, so shipping matters. We would rather you raise a slipping date early than absorb it quietly and hope.
What You Would Do
- Build cross-platform mobile apps in Flutter or React Native, and native modules where they are needed.
- Integrate REST and GraphQL APIs, handle offline state, and make apps behave on bad connections.
- Take apps through Play Store and App Store review, including the parts nobody enjoys.
- Write the tests that protect the parts of the app that would embarrass us if they broke.
- Join client demos and explain your own work rather than having it explained for you.
- Diagnose crashes and performance problems in released apps, and fix the cause rather than the symptom.
What You Bring
The first list is what the job genuinely requires. The second is not a filter — apply without any of it.
Must-haves
- 1–3 years building mobile apps, with at least one you can point to on a store.
- Solid Dart/Flutter or React Native, and enough Kotlin or Swift to read and debug native code.
- Comfortable with Git in a team — branches, reviews, and resolving your own conflicts.
- Understand mobile fundamentals: app lifecycle, state management, memory, and why the UI thread matters.
- Onsite at our Utran office, Monday to Friday.
